Maggie Pope is an indie singer-songwriter and co-founder of the beloved Folk/Americana band Under the Oak. With a voice that feels both intimate and timeless, Maggie has carved out a reputation for crafting songs that glow with emotional honesty, poetic lyricism, and a gentle, roots-inspired spirit.
After years of shaping Under the Oak’s sound—harmonies woven with heart, storytelling rooted in human connection—Maggie continues to create beautiful, soul-stirring music as a solo artist. Her work blends folk, indie, and Americana influences into a sound that is unmistakably her own: warm, reflective, and quietly powerful.

Maggie released “June Tapes” – a five-song EP showcasing original song recordings with an unusual story: armed with a small handheld recorder, and settled within the walls of a quiet closet at her home, she recorded the songs in a single night while her children slept down the hall. The resulting recordings preserve a moment in time – a record of one night from an unexpected place.
Mixed by Grammy Award-winning producer and mixing engineer, Shani Gandhi (Sarah Jarosz – Undercurrent), the songs highlight a vocal that has been described as having “a purity to it that we rarely hear” (Ear to the Ground Music). Accompanied by a softly finger- picked acoustic guitar, her voice shines. It’s folk music at it’s best – honest and raw, with an air of homespun simplicity.
